Tools I use
The short list of services I actually use to invest and to follow the market. Nothing lands on this page because it pays well. It lands here because I use it.
My own data tools
This site carries one data page of its own, fed by snapshots I collect on a weekly rhythm. It is the receipts behind the stories: dated numbers, sources named on the page, nothing dressed up as a live feed.
Broker: where I hold my accounts
[ Slot: primary Canadian self-directed broker ]
To be filled with the broker Joe actually uses, a two-or-three-line note on why (fees, US-stock access from a TFSA/RRSP, app quality), and, if an affiliate program exists and Joe joins it, the labelled affiliate link. No link is published until the account is real.
Market data & charts
[ Slot: charting / quote service ]
To be filled with the service Joe checks prices and charts on, and what he uses it for day to day. Labelled affiliate link slot.
[ Slot: earnings calendar / filings source ]
To be filled with where Joe reads earnings dates and the actual reports (company IR pages and filings are always free; if the source is free, the slot says so and carries no link).
News & research
[ Slot: news source ]
To be filled with the news source Joe reads first on market mornings, and how he cross-checks a rumour before repeating it.
Interactive tools
The AI supply chain map
An interactive map built for this site. It shows who supplies whom among the machine makers, chip factories, memory companies, designers, server builders, clouds and power companies behind AI. Click any company to trace its suppliers and customers, or follow one chip from a lithography machine to a data centre.
The AI world map
An interactive world map built for this site. It places the AI economy on the planet: where machines are built, where chips are made, where the clouds sit, and the export controls, reserves and trade routes around them.
The Atlas
Every Markets North map in one place: the supply chain map, the world map and trends, with more maps in production.
Boards and polls
The Launch Board
The IPOs and pre IPOs of the AI economy, classified by filing facts: who is on the pad, who just lifted off, who is in orbit, and who is still in the hangar. Updated from SEC filings, exchange calendars and company announcements.
The North Poll
The weekly vote: one question of the week, four Friday Close calls in five bands, and a public scoreboard of how the crowd did. For fun, not a survey.
What is not here, on purpose
- No paid signal services. I don't use them, and I won't list them.
- No "best broker" rankings. This is my toolkit, not a comparison site. The right broker depends on your situation. That's a decision for you and, ideally, a licensed advisor.
- Nothing I haven't used myself. If I haven't held an account or run the tool, it doesn't appear here.
