How to read this map
Arrows point from the supplier to the customer. Follow them from left to right and you follow an AI chip from the machines that print it to the data centres that run it.
Three chokepoints are worth noticing. ASML is the only maker of EUV lithography machines. TSMC makes most of the world's leading AI chips. And three memory companies supply nearly all the HBM those chips need. When one link in this chain slows down, everything to its right feels it.
